The band's return

Since last weekend, UK media outlets have been speculating about the musical group's return.

Liam Gallagher, leader of the band Oasis, also commented briefly on the subject on the X program.

For Oasis fans, the date mentioned has a special meaning.

The band's separation would be completing 15 years next Tuesday (28), and on Wednesday, the band's debut album, “Definitely Maybe”, will be completing 30 years.

What happened to Oasis?

Founded in 1991 in Manchester, England, the band Oasis stood out as one of the main names in British rock in the 90s since their first album.

Thus, currently, Oasis has sold more than 75 million records worldwide.

As an exponent of the movement known as “Britpop”, Oasis gained followers around the globe.

Initially, the band stood out for the irreverent personality of its members and for its striking songs, such as “Wonderwall”, “Don't Look Back in Anger” and “Champagne Supernova”.

However, the troubled relationship between the Gallagher brothers always caused problems within Oasis.

The two had several public exchanges of insults and disagreements, leading Noel to abandon his bandmates during a European tour after an argument.

When did the band end?

In late August 2009, Noel announced his permanent departure from the band. "With regret and relief, I have to inform you that I am leaving Oasis today," the guitarist said on his website.

“Opinions may differ, but it is impossible for me to continue collaborating with Liam any longer.” At that time, the remaining members of the band Oasis chose to persist as the band Beady Eye.

The group disbanded in 2014, leading Liam to pursue a solo career from that point on, while Noel founded the band High Flying Birds.

Due to the challenges in reconciling the brothers, Oasis' return was always uncertain.

In 2020, Liam told Rolling Stone magazine that he doubted they would even be able to get to the first chorus of 'Rock and Roll Star'.

Liam is currently on tour to celebrate three decades of the album “Definitely Maybe”.

In February, the singer revealed that he invited his brother to participate in the shows, but Noel refused the proposal.
